MLB: The Show 12 on PS3 and Vita for 80 Bucks

My biggest worry with the PS Vita was how is Sony going to handle  pricing for PS3 and Vita Cross-Play titles. Hustle Kings is the only Cross-Play compatible game, but the PS3 version was already out when the system launched. The first title to drop after the Vita’s release is MLB: The Show. I have been praying that Sony would not screw this up. Looks like my prayers have been answered.

Sony decided to address mine and many other’s worries earlier on their blog.  ”Over the past several weeks, we’ve heard you loud and clear – consumers who purchase both should be rewarded with a discount – and we agree.”, words from Tyler Vaught, Sports Product Marketing Manager. “Starting on March 6th, we’ll be offering a $20 instant discount, for anyone who purchases both MLB 12 The Show on PS3 and on PS Vita, together during the same transaction at checkout. ”  All of the blog post commenters are worried about retail chains totally botching this and I have to agree. It is still good to know that Sony is thinking. Hopefully this pricing model sticks.

If you are worried about everything on the retailer’s end, I would call around to check and see if your videogame retailer is in the know.

I am pretty interested to see how this turns out. In the past i have bought both console ans psp versions of the game. They are both outstanding games if you are a baseball addict which I am not, but they are fun to play casually as well.
