Buckle up, nerds. We may still be about a week away from E3 2012, but in the age of the internet it should come as no surprise that anything that is planned will start unofficially much in advance due to leaks.

Let’s start with Dead Space 3. You know it’s happening. Some of the information revealed about it speculates that they are doing some very uncool things to it, if I may say so myself. Regardless, I’ll refrain from getting too cranky pants until we know for sure.

Today brings us a bizarre “graphic novel” trailer for the game, which is in the style of a graphic novel to promote the actual game, not a trailer promoting a graphic novel. Yeah, I know, that’s a tad convoluted, I agree. However, it does present some interesting tidbits of knowledge.

The trailer below showcases new character John Carver, an Earthgov Sergeant on the planet Uxor who finds himself in the midst of the ongoing Necromorth invasion. Hired specifically to guard a new Marker on said planet, Carver quickly finds himself in the middle of a huge shitstorm, which is no shocker since this is Dead Space, after all. The individual who has been previously teased as having a red eyed RIG set-up is also featured, although none of this confirms or denies the rumors of Isaac Clarke having a co-op buddy and new co-op mode in the game.

It’s a lot to absorb for now, so if you’re not a diehard Dead Space fanatic, you can probably hold out for the official reveal. If you’re like Jack and myself, however, this is a must-watch for fanboy’s sake.

I’m intrigued. I will save further impressions for when I know the 100% truth about everything pertaining to this game.
